If you like your meat hard, thick and Italian, then soupy is the cured Sopressata sausage for you. Sopressatta, or salami, can obviously be munched on all over the world, but the “soupy” sausage is specific to Westerly, where a majority of the population is descended from Cosenza, in Calabria, Italy.
