Soupy

Posted

If you like your meat hard, thick and Italian, then soupy is the cured Sopressata sausage for you. Sopressatta, or salami, can obviously be munched on all over the world, but the “soupy” sausage is specific to Westerly, where a majority of the population is descended from Cosenza, in Calabria, Italy. Many Westerly-ians make their own version of soupy, but if you are not an expert in the curing of meat, then try a 100% pork Dipollino’s “supri” Sopressata from Dipper’s Packing Company. 55 Ledward Avenue, Westerly. 596-3951
