Kade Feldman grew up eating her mother’s food. “She helped me expand my palate and to be a better cook,” says Kade, owner of Westerly’s NOODLE REVOLUTION. “I owe so much to my mother. She taught me her cooking techniques, how to select superior ingredients, the importance of customer service with both vendors and guests, and really all aspects of running a successful restaurant.”
Originally from Bangkok, Kade was born into a family of hoteliers and restaurateurs. Her father was the general manager of one of the oldest hotels in Bangkok. Her mother was an apprentice to one of the royal chefs for the Thai monarchy and opened her first restaurant during the Vietnam War, where she introduced gourmet cuisine to American, British, and French troops. Kade’s older brother was trained in classic French cuisine and has worked at culinary landmarks such as Le Cirque, River Cafe, Le Bernadin, Bouley, and Pierre Hotel.
Kade ran a popular restaurant, Rice Spice Noodles, in Mystic Connecticut with her brother before branching out on her own. “We both took an unusual
approach and created a unique cuisine that combining Thai and western components. It was an honor to have so many rave reviews including a very good rating in the New York Times.”
With a focus on family traditions, unique cuisine, and exceptional service, Kade took a leap to start her own business. “I moved to the Rhode Island/Connecticut area from New York City to fulfill my lifelong dream of opening my own restaurant where I could share what I’ve learned from my family and culture,” says Kade, “I feel so fortunate to bring my passion and the yield of my culinary journey to this community with Noodle Revolution.”
Among her favorite things to do is to dine out at local restaurants. From the food and the interior to the ambiance and all the small details, Kade is passionate about the entire dining experience.
“The best feeling is to be sitting in a comfortable room surrounded by familiar guests enjoying delicious food, drinks, ambiance, and great hospitality. My restaurant is an expression of myself, it’s my art. When I see the smiles on my guests’ faces, it just fills me with pride.”
