Writing Among the Gravestones

Posted by LitArtsRI

For some of Rhode Island’s earliest residents, the writing on a headstone was often a rare expression of self. While these motifs became standardized over time, loss is always an opportunity for creative reflection, an invitation to break free of the clichés that can accompany writing about difficult subjects. On Sat, Aug 17 join LitArts RI at North Burial Ground for Writing Among the Gravestones, a free and open to all write-in from 10am-1pm with an optional generative workshop, “Love, Death, and Depression: Moving Beyond Cliché in Emotional Poetry” with teaching artist Loren Walker.
