Santa Paws is Coming to Town

Downtown Providence decks the streets with treats, tunes, and tail wags for its first-ever Holiday Paws Block Pawty on December 7

The holidays are going to the dogs this year, and Providence is all in. On December 7, Downtown Providence will host the very first Holiday Paws Downtown Block Pawty, a free outdoor celebration filled with wagging tails, festive fun, and local cheer. From 12-4pm, Westminster and Aborn Streets will come alive with live performances, holiday shopping, and pet-friendly activities that support the Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL).

Produced by BCR Creative Relations, the event unites pet lovers, families, and small businesses for an afternoon that celebrates community and creativity. “Holiday Paws represents everything we stand for, from collaboration to community impact,” said Brendan Chipley Roane, producer and founder of BCR Creative Relations.

Visitors can wander through the Bark Market, where local makers, artisans, and pet-focused vendors show off their best goods. Over at the Santa Paws Photo Booth, guests can snap a holiday keepsake with Santa himself ($20 per photo, with $5 donated to PARL). For pups who love the spotlight, there’s a lineup of playful contests, including the Best Trick Blitz, Shake Paw Showdown, and the crowd-favorite Howl-iday Costume Contest and Runway Show.

Humans can join in the fun too. The Tail Wag Tavern will serve up festive cocktails and local brews inside a cozy heated beverage garden, while live holiday music keeps spirits bright all afternoon.

The Holiday Paws Downtown Block Pawty will take place rain, snow, or shine, so bundle up, leash up, and get ready for a Sunday Funday that’s all about paws, play, and plenty of holiday cheer. For event details and registration, visit Eventbrite.com.
