Harry’s Bar & Burger Dishes Thanksgiving on a Bun

Holiday flavors get a diner twist with creative sliders and shakes all season long


Juicy sliders and haystack onion strings served up in paper-lined baskets with a pint of something frothy may not inspire visions of down-home Thanksgiving dinners, but the team at Harry’s Bar & Burger managed to distill the flavors of the holiday into a diner-style creation. Subbing turkey cuts with crispy chicken, the Thanksgiving Slider layers warm gravy over stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo between two toasted Martin’s potato buns. Though a seasonal special for fall, it was so popular last year, Harry’s two Providence locations kept it going into January.

With the main course and sides squeezed into a single sandwich, that only leaves dessert...in the form of a bevvie. Harry’s Pumpkin Pie Shake is back for the season with a blend of vanilla ice cream and real pumpkin pie filling, topped with whipped cream. Caramel drizzle gets a pie crust treatment with a sprinkle of crushed graham crackers around the rim. This is a kid-friendly go-to, or ask for it boozy to indulge in an adult dessert with whipped cream vodka. Wash the feast down with a rotating selection of pumpkin ales on tap, and your Thanksgiving-at-the-bar experience is complete.
