Venture Café Providence, a hub of innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship located in District Hall, hosts a regional round of the prestigious Startup World Cup on September 5. Organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, this annual global pitch competition offers local entrepreneurs a unique chance to compete for a $1 million investment.

Recognized as the largest global startup conference and pitch competition, the Startup World Cup holds regional contests in over 50 locations across six continents, bringing together leading startups, investors, and industry leaders. Winners from each regional event, including Providence, will advance to the Semi-Finals and Grand Finale in San Francisco in October to compete for the grand prize.

Reilly Kons, director of Venture Café Providence, expresses great pride in hosting this major event. "We are incredibly proud to bring the Startup World Cup regional competition to Providence," says Kons. "This event highlights our commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the entrepreneurial community in Rhode Island. We encourage all local startups to apply and take advantage of this amazing opportunity."

Venture Café Providence’s mission to connect the innovation ecosystem aligns with the goals of the Startup World Cup. By hosting this competition, Venture Café not only offers local startups a chance for global exposure but also facilitates crucial connections with investors, mentors, and industry experts. The deadline for submissions is July 31. For more information and to apply, visit StartUpWorldCup.io, and learn more about Venture Café at VentureCafeProvidence.org.
