For four decades, the Rhode Island Open has been one of the state's longest-running open calls for artists. A chance for painters, sculptors, photographers, and makers of every kind to show their work side by side.
This fall, Warwick Center for the Arts marks the 40th edition with an open-theme, all-media exhibition of work by artists 18 and older who live or work in Rhode Island. Entries were reviewed blind by juror Richard Whitten, Professor of Painting at Rhode Island College, who also selects the cash award winners in person after the show is installed.
The opening reception and awards presentation takes place Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 7:30 pm, and the exhibition runs October 10 through November 21.
