If I just read this correctly, are you claiming there were no witch trials in Rhode Island? If so, I’m sorry but your article is very much so inaccurate.

My husband is a direct descendant of Deborah Babcock Hoxsie, who was tried in Richmond, Washington County, Rhode Island and executed February 3, 1761. At 55 years old, she was accused of training 26 women in the ways of witchcraft. She had weights attached to her legs and was drowned in freezing waters with the townspeople watching. I’m including a link to an article about her, one of several documents we’re aware of.

We believe she may have been a Quaker. And sadly, she never knew several of her sons fought as officers in the American Revolution.
