Now-December 16: JMG Theater and Bristol Theater Company presents “It’s a Wonderful Life: Live Radio Play”. Told through a live radio broadcast, the 1940s classic details George Bailey’s life story while he ponders ending it on Christmas Eve. Featuring favorite characters, radio commercial jingles, and live sound effects.

Now-December 22: The Contemporary Theater Company showcases its own production of A Christmas Carol. See your favorite characters, Scrooge and Tiny Tim included, as they retell the classic, heartwarming story of a cynical old man who turns his life around – thanks to a few visits from ghosts.

December 8: NBC The Voice’s – and Rhode Island’s own – Billy Gilman presents his Home for the Holidays Concert, a combination of his favorite Christmas tunes, some of his own songs, and the backdrop of a lively band.

December 8: Just because the temperature has dropped doesn’t mean the end of all outdoor fun. New this year is Deck the Trunks with Food Truck Follies at Frerichs Farm. Bringing you tidings of joy are food trucks, cookies and hot cider, a decorated Holiday House, a holiday trunk trimming contest, and wreaths and garland for purchase.

December 8: Cherish the Moments, LLC and Knights of Columbus raise money for Hasbro Children’s Hospital with their Christmas Craft Fair. Vendors and crafters sell their holiday creations, accompanied by baked goods, refreshments, arts and crafts for kids, a raffle, music, and door prizes for the first 100 customers.

December 8: Alongside the Grand Illumination and Breakfast with Santa, Bristol’s Christmas Festival holds a very special Christmas Storytime at Rogers Free Library, where members of the Bristol Fire Department and its Ladies Auxiliary read Christmas classics and new tellings to kids.

December 8-9: Artful cookware, whimsical jewelry, and owl-shaped bar stools. These are just a few must-see pieces by the artists and artisans showcasing their work at this year’s Art Providence Holiday Show, taking place at the RI Convention Center.

December 8-9: For its second year, The Craft and Kitsch Winter Market will bring together New England vendors, from tiki carvers and stained-glass artists to a tattoo inspired watercolor painter and tarot card reader, alongside the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative Winter Fundraiser Art Sale. Just in time to finish checking off your holiday shopping list.

December 9: Enjoy artful holiday shopping at the Providence Flea Holiday Market taking place at Hope High School. Browse one-of-a-kind pieces from over 60+ local vendors, from makers and artisans to a variety of vintage offerings.

December 9: Get in the holiday spirit and enjoy handmade work from a variety of local artists and makers at the Broadway Holiday Walkabout in Newport, as well as carolers, jingle bikes, and a tree lighting at Newport City Hall.
