Celebrate summer in the Ocean State with these can't-miss events

August 2-5: Save the date for the Kingston Chamber Music Festival as they celebrate 30 years of established, international musicians playing alongside up-and-coming young talent; featuring the music of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart and more. 

August 3-5: Spend your weekend chowing down on RI's deliciously local seafood at the 34th annual Charlestown Seafood Festival. Come for the food and stay for the rides, entertainment, and fireworks. 

August 3-31: Food Truck Fridays kicks off at Roger Williams Park Zoo with a tasty array of food trucks, plus plenty of fun for the whole family like a whirl around the historic carousel, camel rides (weather permitting), and more. 

August 4
: Head to Westerly for an illuminated evening at River Glow 2018. See the Pawcatuck River lite up with floating bonfires alongside live music performances, face painting, shopping, food, and more fun festivities.

August 4: Take your inner artist outside and learn to paint (with a view) during Art on the River. Hosted by the Narrow River Preservation Association, local artists give painting tutorials along the riverside amongst other creative activities like fish prints and seaweed art. 

August 4: Providence Performing Arts Center welcomes Yanni 25 – Live at the Acropolis Anniversary Concert Tour. See The world-renowned composer take center stage as he celebrates 25 years since the release of his iconic live album recorded in Athens. 

August 4:  Step back in automobile history with the classic cars on display at the Antiques Festival & Auto Show. With over 25 antiques dealers, plus vintage cars, this Little Compton event is anything but small. 

August 5: Get a taste – literally – of RI’s culinary, artistic, and musical culture at Warren Folk’s Festival. Check out the work of local artists and artisans, savor an array of food and beer, and dance along to bands like Haunt the House and The Quahogs, just to name a few. 

August 5: The grassroots music festival ConserFest returns for another rocking day of music on Block Island, headlined by The Rowan Brothers. Dedicated to raising money and awareness for conservation efforts, festival proceeds go towards keeping Block Island the natural treasure that it is.
