Parkside Rotisserie & Bar is what sophisticated yet inviting big city dining is supposed to feel like. Upon entering the stylish bistro you're greeted by the sounds and scents of the open kitchen, the sight of fresh flowers on the tables, and the warmth of the friendly staff. Parkside has been a fixture on the Providence dining scene since it opened in 1996 as a labor of love by the husband and wife team of Steve and Donna Davenport.

The food at Parkside reflects the styles and seasonality of New American cooking, while paying respect to classical French techniques and preparations. The menu features a wide array of starters, salads, pastas, and meat and seafood entrees. Whether you're hungry for the timeless French combo of Moules en Frites (mussels and fries in a beer-based clam broth), a hearty 10-ounce Bistro Burger, or an exotic Basque Shellfish Stew with the unmistakable aromas of paprika and saffron, Parkside delivers fresh, exciting flavors.

Of course, the restaurant is perhaps best known for its signature rotisserie meats. Simply and expertly prepared in a special oven imported from France, these selections truly allow the top notch ingredients to speak for themselves. Choose from classic dishes like Coq au Vin and Peking Duck, or house originals like the White Farms Organic Pork Rack with Dijon cream sauce, brussels sprouts, bacon lardons and pearl onions. No other restaurant in Providence offers this kind of rotisserie cooking.

The Davenports' presence remains strong at Parkside to this day. Though Donna passed away, her influence is still evident in the decor and service. And while Chef Antonio da Costa has taken over the kitchen, Steve continues to give the restaurant his all every day. That's why after two decades, Parkside is as fresh and vibrant as ever.

Can't-Miss Dish: Lemon & Garlic Marinated Half Chicken: All natural chicken marinated in lemon and garlic brine, garnished with green herb sauce, served with hand-cut pommes frites and Parkside salad.

Insider Tip: The specials on their website are updated daily, so there's always something new.
