“Our admin staff is heavily on the female side,” she says, noting that this is rarely the case in the industry but a secret sauce to Gentry’s success. “It’s often the woman who is coordinating the logistics of the move; oftentimes she’s the one who’s home for the move and orchestrating everything. When you work all of that out with another female, someone who gets the struggle, it’s kind of comforting.”
Especially for long-distance moves, knowing there’s someone willing to go the extra mile to meet your needs is essential. While many big companies handle long-haul moves, Gentry ensures transparency and flexibility from start to finish.
“When you go with the large carriers, you’re given a window of time of when they’ll arrive, usually two to three weeks, and you’re often put on an 18-wheeler with multiple other families’ storage containers,” says Christine. “When you use Gentry, you’re in one truck (unless you need two!), it’s just your family, and when we load that truck with your stuff, it’s on that truck until it gets dropped off at its destination.” You choose the day and time to fit your schedule, and the same friendly face that helped pack up your old home will be there to assist with the delivery when you arrive.
