Vocal Masterclass with Kevin Deas

Posted by ProvidenceSingers

Providence Singers, a 100-voice concert choir under the direction of Dr. Christine Noel, will conclude its spring workshop series with an online masterclass led by internationally acclaimed bass-baritone Kevin Deas.

The Providence Singers first met Kevin Deas at the Newport Jazz Festival, when he joined the choir onstage with the Dave Brubeck Quartet to sing the baritone solos in Gates of Justice. Mr. Deas has won international acclaim for his performance of the title role in Porgy and Bess. In addition to his solo career in opera and oratorio, he is on the performance faculty of the Princeton University School of Music. He will lead a vocal masterclass with three exceptional young singers, chosen by video audition: soprano Yohji Daquio, mezzo-soprano Jade Etienne, and tenor Joseph Burdick. This online session will be of interest to singers who wish to listen and learn, and to everyone else who enjoys great vocal music.

Zoom login credentials will be emailed to registered guests on Monday, April 26. To register, visit https://providence-singers.square.site.
