We’re on the hunt for Rhody Gems! Every neighborhood has that secret, hidden, cool and unusual, or hole-in-the-wall spot that locals love. Email or tag us on social media using #RhodyGem to suggest yours, and we might just feature it!

What it is:

Three floors house 220 dealers selling their vintage wares, from the owner James Fennessy’s collection of statues and busts to a wide variety of costume jewelry, decor, glassware, collectibles, and much more.

Where to find it:

On the bustling Wickenden Street, just across the Point Street Bridge, it’s hard to miss the blue trim outlining the artfully arranged window display and the “Antiques” flag waving in a breeze.

What makes it a Rhody Gem?

Not your typical antique shop, Nostalgia is as much known for the friendly dealers manning the store as it is its eclectic collection. Expect to be welcomed at the door when you arrive, and if you’re bringing a four-legged friend, Fennessy has plenty of dog treats stocked up. “You’ll find Martha helping customers when she’s not decorating one of her fabulous windows,” Fennessy explains, “and Sherry, when she’s not greeting people, is probably reading someone’s cards or astrological chart!” A regular stop for both locals and tourists, Nostalgia is the place to go if you’re looking to experience its namesake feeling – as you stroll through the different generations of retro music playing on each floor – or to find the perfect mid-century modern bowl, vintage postcards, or standout accessory to tie an outfit together. Plus, there’s complimentary candy on the way out!
