As far as institutions in Providence go, they don’t get much older than Brown, which is in the middle of celebrating 250 years of producing the smartest kids in any given room. The school may have been founded in Newport, and didn’t start classes in Providence until 1770, but it’s as integral to the landscape of the city as College Hill itself.
