So Summer

Make a Splash

Fun ways to get on the water in South County

Posted

Travel by Ferry
Skip the traffic and treat yourself to a harbor tour en route to downtown Newport on the Jamestown-Newport Ferry. A short sail from Galilee on the Block island Ferry will land you on Rhode Island’s island paradise. A slightly longer one from North Kingstown will bring you to Martha’s Vineyard on the Vineyard Fast Ferry.

On a Boat
Charter a day of sailing or a fishing trip out of Galilee with Frances Fleet. Royal Crustacean Charters in East Greenwich will take you for a sail aboard the 42’ Victoria. Also operating out of the Port of Galilee, Seven B’s offers deep sea fishing every day, all year round aboard their 80’ fishing yacht.

In the Water
Rent a kayak or take a guided tour from the Kayak Centre with locations in Wickford and Charlestown. Learn from the pros at Peter Pan Surfing Academy, which offers daily lessons on Narragansett Town Beach.
