Leading Ladies 2018: Pamela Steere Maloof

“By being involved with horses, a person confronts their own sense of self,” says Pam Steere Maloof of Faith Hill Farm. “It takes hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Horses demand honesty and kindness, qualities that we, as humans, then continue to uphold in our own daily lives.” Pam and her husband opened Faith Hill Farm in 1991. It has grown into an equestrian facility that not only teaches horsemanship to children and adults, but also bigger lessons about life and character. Pam says “our students take what they learn in our farm and give back. They strive to make the world a better place.”

In 2017, Pam opened her nonprofit organization, the Faith Hill Farm Foundation, which works with different groups in Rhode Island to provide equine assisted psychotherapy and assisted learning. The Foundation helps individuals overcome adversity through meaningful interactions with horses. Pam knows, “research has demonstrated that horses are powerful healing partners and can enrich our lives immensely.”

Faith Hill Farm welcomes everyone, from competitive riders, to burgeoning students and leisure riders. “We have a real sense of inclusiveness, team spirit, and community here,” she says. “Together we build a caring and positive environment where everyone can meet and exceed their goals.”

Riders from Faith Hill Farm regularly qualify for national competitions, such as the FEI National Pony Championship. The brand new covered arena allows for all-weather riding and the farm hosts a summer camp every year with early-bird enrollment through March.
