For two decades, Cafe Paragon & VIVA have been combining eclectic food in a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere with a sizzling bar and lounge scene on famed Thayer Street. A staple of the College Hill dining scene since 1994, Paragon offers European bistro/cafe style dining, while the sophisticated lounge next door at Viva features Mediterranean mezes and creative cocktails. On weekend nights it comes alive with music and nightclub vibe.

Over the years, Paragon has won numerous awards “best of” awards from RI Monthly and the Providence Phoenix, including Best Burger, Best Salad and Best Octopus. It has also been written up in the Providence Journal, Yankee Magazine Travel and Vanity Fair. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide range of appetizers, salads, burgers, grilled pizzas, pastas and meat and seafood entrees. An eclectic range of influences -- including Italian, Mediterranean, Asian and Californian -- informs the cuisine, like the Sesame Sea Scallops with Asian sweet chili sauce and ginger sauteed vegetables, or the Arugula Pizza with prosciutto, goat cheese, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

Don’t miss the Gourmet Brunch Buffet every Sunday, featuring carving, omelet and pasta stations, along with entrees eggs Benedict, cinnamon French toast and sole Francaise. It’s only $15.99 per person (children under six are free and children between six and twelve are $7.99), or $19.99 with a bloody mary or mimosa.

Paragon also offers free delivery seven days a week until midnight, providing a more refined and delicious alternative to your typical delivery options. And check out their nightly specials, ranging from half-price bottles of wine with the purchase of any two pasta-entree combos on Monday nights to the Thursday/Friday “Beat the Clock” appetizer special, in which the time you order is the price you pay between 4-7pm.

Can’t-Miss Dish: The Surf and Turf Burger with smoked mozzarella, warm lobster meat and chipotle aioli, accompanied by Paragon’s famous fries.
