Vedic Bodymask (Udhvartana) & Hot Towel (Intro)

Posted by NewportMassageSchool

Vedic Bodymask Therapy is called Udvartana in Sanskrit. Using powdered herbs, clay, salt, sugar or herbal paste applied to the body, can help detoxify and rejuvenate the body. In this particular introductory class, we will be using salt and oil. It can be stimulating and exfoliating. The Nadis (nerve flow) in the body flow in the direction of the lymph drainage pathways and nerve plexuses, which activate and nourish the central seven Chakras (energy centers in the body). If a practitioner performs Udvartana properly and is aligned with Prana (life force) and in a healthy physical state, the client’s mental, physical and pranic bodies (subtle energy sheaths) will be cultivated and supported. Udvartana is good for most Ayurvedic constitutions and is usually done before Swedhana (steam therapy) for optimum effects.
