You can take our word for it – the view from Chair 5 is spectacular. High above Narragansett, the fourth-story deck overlooks the beach, the ocean, and all the parkland and shingled cottages in between. If you doubt its splendor, The Break Hotel – which houses Chair 5 – has a camera affixed to the deck. You can see its panorama, in real time, on the hotel’s website.
Summer is brief, and Chair 5 is one of a precious few roof decks in South County. These are the sunsets in an Adirondack chair that every East Coaster dreams of, and if that isn’t enough, Chair 5 has a special rooftop menu, with everything from lobster rolls and chowder to the Grilled Mushroom Panini and Saugy’s Pickle Dog. The bar’s signature cocktails have a distinctly New England flavor, including the Pumpkin Martini, the Crans-Giving, and the Apple Turnover (Sons of Liberty whiskey, apple cider).
There aren’t a lot of hotels in Narragansett, and Chair 5 attracts customers from all over the world, especially in the warmer months. Sipping a chardonnay and gazing at the frothy Atlantic waves, even locals may be tempted to plan a staycation. Narragansett
