WaterFire Providence Earth Day Cleanup, April 26
Help clean up Waterplace Park in preparation for the upcoming WaterFire season. Efforts will be focused in two different areas: on shore (tidying up the park) and on the river (clearing the river of debris). Volunteers will meet on the riverbank next to Citizen's Bank Plaza parking lot at 8am. Snacks and water will be provided. 1 Moshassuck Court, Providence. 273-9727.

Bridge E-Waste Drive, April 26
Got old or unwanted electronics? Drop them off this Earth Day at Texas Roadhouse in Warwick. Affordable Shredding, Inc. will also be offering document-shredding services at $.50 per pound, with a percentage of the fee being donated to Oceans of Grace. 9am-12pm. 1200 Quaker Lane, Warwick. 884-4185. 

Earth Day in the City, April 26
Celebrate Earth Day and welcome the arrival of spring by taking an educational nature walk hosted by the Audubon Society. Meet at the entrance of Swan Point Cemetary at 9am. Pre-registration required. $8 for members, $12 for nonmembers. 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. 949-5454. 

Jaycees Arbor Day, April 24 & 26
Celebrate Arbor Day from 11am-1pm at the 
Riverpoint Community Park Arboretum. The Jaycees and other volunteers will demonstrate tree ecology techniques and plant care practices. On Saturday, April 26th starting at 9:30am, the Jaycees will assist others in the development of a community garden outside the historic Riverpoint Mills Village. Hay Street, West Warwick. 829-9191.

Clean Day on the Greenway, April 26
Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council for Clean Day on the Greenway from 9am-2pm. Volunteers help beautify the Woonasquatucket River and nearby bike path by eeding, mulching, touching up paint, signs and fences, in-water river clean up, etc. Check in at 8:30am at Riverside Park in Providence. Earth Day Family Nature Walk, April 26
Celebrate nature while helping preserve the Tillinghast Pond Management Area. Join the Nature Conservancy RI for a 1.5-mile walk in the woods from 1-3pm. Plain Road, West Greenwich. 331-7110.
