THE POWER HOURS at the POWERED BY PRESERVATION gala

Posted by pvdpreservation

For more than 60 years, the Providence Preservation Society (PPS) has served as activist for the city’s historic character. POWERED BY PRESERVATION, an anniversary gala, will honor our past and catalyze preservation advocacy for a new era. We are setting the scene at the 1912, Georgian Revival-style Dynamo House, longtime home to the Narragansett Electric Company until extended vacancy placed it on PPS’s Most Endangered Properties advocacy list in 2011-2012. A visionary public-private partnership and use of historic tax credits led to its rebirth this year as South Street Landing, an education hub. Celebrate in style among the first to witness this grand-scale Providence preservation success story, and support PPS’s work toward many more. Dinner tickets are sold out, but a limited number of $60 tickets for the 9:00-11:00 pm POWER HOURS portion of the evening can still be purchased at ppsri.org/gala. The Power Hours will feature open bar, dessert stations, live entertainment by Danielle Ponder and The Tomorrow People and a luxury raffle to benefit PPS’s continued preservation education and advocacy work.
