Pinda Swedhana is an Ayurvedic therapy that is traditionally performed with a bundle of steamed herbs, milk and rice to soothe the body and soul. Influenced by Ayurvedic Medicine, the herbal compress is an integral part of Eastern healing practices and Thai Massage, which combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, gentle stretching, energy work, and meditation with the use of the herbal poultice filled with organic herbs and essential oils.

The Herbal Poultice is a deep heat medicinal muscle treatment that dates back to 14th Century Thailand Ayutthaya Thailand when a hot pack was administered to war-soldiers returning from battle & remains an integral part of Thai Medicine. The body absorbs the heat, combined with the organic hrderbs to help reduce aches & pains, stimulate circulation, increase lymphatic drainage, detoxify & condition the skin. 3 herbal blends available; Revitalizing, Calming & Indigo.

Instructor: Dr. Anusha Sehgal Parivallal BAMS, MD (Ayu)
Dr. Anusha is an Ayurvedic physician from the Boston area, who journeyed to India in 1998 to study Ayurveda. She has a masters in Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics and has done an academic fellowship at Boston University focused on Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Anusha has taught the principles as well as the practice of Ayurveda to medical students, researchers and general health seekers both in India and the US. Apart from her passion for teaching, she has also been involved in a few controversial research projects regarding Ayurveda which resulted in revision of quality and standards of Ayurvedic medicine worldwide. Dr. Anusha has also worked with Osher Center of Integrative Medicine, Boston; BMC Department of Integrative Medicine, Boston; Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO, India; Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF), India; and L'Oreal Research and Innovation, India. She is also a member of National Ayurvedic Medical Association and an National Accreditation Board for Hospital (NABH) assessor for Ayurveda hospitals in India.
