Guitarist Peter Ciluzzi is set to kick off his East Coast tour at Brooklyn Coffee & Tea House, 209 Douglas Ave, Providence, on Friday, April 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Ciluzzi’s music transports listeners on a journey through virtuosic, evocative compositions that tell a story without words. Videos of his acclaimed solo instrumental work have accumulated millions of views on YouTube and more than 6 million plays on Spotify.
Ciluzzi is a recording artist on Candyrat Records, which represents more than thirty musicians from ten countries and features some of the finest guitar-based music from around the world. He has previously toured the U.S. with Candyrat artist showcases. This is his first solo East Coast tour, which will take him from New Hampshire to Georgia this spring.
With what has been described as a distinctive, timeless sound that is both familiar and unexpected, his music defies easy categorization and reflects a wide range of influences including jazz, classical, rock, bluegrass, and world music. He was a finalist in the 2007 Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and has performed with guitarists such as Antoine Dufour and Ewan Dobson. His works released on Candyrat records include his debut album “Music Without Words”, and the 2016 follow-up album “Still Without Words”.
The broad nature of his musical interests also extends into guitar design and construction. Having studied guitar making with Charles Fox at The American School of Lutherie in Portland, OR, he started Ciluzzi Guitars in a small Provincetown, MA workshop in 2006. As a guitar maker, his work has been displayed at a number of exhibitions including the Montreal Guitar Show.
Tickets for the April 21 performance at Brooklyn Coffee & Tea House are $10 at the door. Doors will open at 7:30 PM. Seating is limited, and on a first-come, first-served basis. More information can be found at www.peterciluzzi.com.
