Another (Little) Bike Path

Posted

In August, the ribbon was cut on the newest off-road stretch of bike path in the city. At 0.7 miles from Gano Street to Pitman, it might not seem like much, but it’s really just a piece of a significantly larger network. Actually, two networks. First, it’s a part of the Blackstone River Bikeway, whose 48 miles connect our fair city to Worcester. Second, it’s part of the ambitious East Coast Greenway, which links Maine to Florida by way of a single contiguous bike route.

If you’re not up for a jaunt to the Sunshine State, the up-close views of the Seekonk River Bridge are a welcome addition to the state’s lovely biking network, especially this month as the leaves start to change color.
