One of our favorite things about summer in the city is Movies on the Block – because the only thing better than a free movie or an outdoor movie is a free, outdoor movie. There aren’t many better ways to spend a Thursday night than strolling down to Grant’s Block, maybe grabbing some food or a drink from Tazza, and taking in a classic film among our neighbors. It seems like each year’s line-up has gotten a little edgier and more packed with fan favorites and former blockbusters. This year is no exception, mixing in splashy action franchises (The Matrix, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), cult comedies (The Jerk, Office Space), prestige pictures (Good Will Hunting, Cinema Paradiso), a healthy dose of Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, The Departed) and pure, hardboiled bad-assery (Inglorious Basterds, Death Wish). Check out the full schedule below and be sure to pack the popcorn. Every Thursday at dusk. Corner of Westminster and Union Streets.
