Enjoy a special paddle on the Woonasquatucket River on Sunday, October 1st. Not only will you get to see Providence from a unique perspective, you will also learn more about the WRWC directly from the Board and Staff, and then we'll all hang out and have drinks and some food after!
You'll hear about some of our programs and major projects like our green infrastructure program, River Rangers, urban park revitalization, Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway and Bike Path expansion, Red Shed Bike Camp, Fish in the Classroom and Environmental Education, Clean Days on the Greenway, and much more.
This special paddle will begin at the landing on South Water Street in Providence and we'll paddle up through Waterplace Park to and past the mall, and then return to the starting point. We'll go right through downtown Providence on this paddle! We have seen red-tailed hawks, great blue herons, and many other birds in this stretch of the river. The complete trip is about 4 miles.
After the paddle, we invite you to be our guest for drinks and appetizers at Hemenway's Restaurant on South Main Street. We'll chat informally about the many projects and programs of the WRWC. And, who knows, maybe you'll want to join our Board or help out on one of our many committees!

If you are using one of our solo kayaks for this special trip the price is $55/person. Two-person canoes are $35/person ($25/person for extra passengers). If you're bringing your own boat the price is $25/person.
If you are bringing your own boat please remember to bring a life jacket for everyone who will be in your boat.
