About Explorations in Art
As part of our 140th Year Celebration, the Providence Art Club presents a special Sunday afternoon series for children (ages 5-12) and their families to explore our historic buildings, tour the galleries and engage in interactive workshops featuring the following: collage, pastel, glass, printmaking, sculpture and more. These workshops are available to both members and non-members.
About People and Faces
The parents and children will be introduced to the Art Club. We will look at historical portraits, silhouettes, and people in landscapes. We will look closely at features, expressions, clothing, color and pose by engaging students in open ended questioning strategies. After looking closely at various portraits in the galleries, adults and children will create a portrait.
