This year, Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby fall on the same day, which means there has never been a better excuse to sip a cocktail in the middle of the afternoon while wearing an overly large hat. Here are some of your best bets for Saturday, May 5.

Where: Westminster Street

What: Cinco de Mayo Block PartyInDowncity Providence is closing down Westminster Street for the day to host the biggest block party of the year featuring music, performers, activities, Mexican foods & beverages, piñata smashing, and all the Cinco de Mayo fun you could imagine.

What: Cinco de Mayo Rock-n-Roll Yard Sale, part of the Cinco de Mayo Block Party downtown. Features great vendors selling vinyl records, vintage goods, and other rock and roll worthy goodies.
