Biggest Spenders: Providence Place Mall

Remember back in the Stone Age, when we had to drive all the way to Warwick to get our Orange Julius fix? Neither do we. (Well, we do, but we’re trying to forget.) Fifteen years ago, Providence Place added the phrase “I’m just going to run over to the mall on my lunch break” to the city’s vocabulary. Its landscape has changed a lot over the last year or so, adding stores the likes of which we’ve never dreamed of getting - hello, Sur La Table - and edibles like Crumbs Bakery cupcakes and Cheeseboy gourmet grilled cheeses. If in all 15 years you haven’t figured out that the view from the third-floor Nordstrom Cafe is one of the best in the city, now’s your chance to finally check it out.
