This Saturday, the Providence Animal Rescue League is hosting their signature fundraising event, “The Rescue,” at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Blackstone Valley Half Marathon and 5K
Now that we’ve been having some consistently good weather, it might be time to stop jogging on the treadmill and get outdoors for a run. If that sounds good to you, you can participate in a half marathon and 5K along the Blackstone Valley. The race will start at the corner of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Pawtucket, go around the Blackstone River, and will finish just south of Slater Park. Legally Blonde at URI
This weekend is the opening weekend of the University of Rhode Island’s production of Legally Blonde. Legally Blonde is a Tony award-winning musical adapted by writer Kirsten Smith about Elle Woods, a blonde “sorority-sister valley girl” who decides that she’s going to go to Harvard Law School in order to win back her boyfriend. This feel-good story is one you won’t want to miss, and will be in URI’s Robert E. Will Theatre at various times over the next two weeks. RI Rednecks Night of Music
This Friday, the RI Rednecks will be hosting a “night of music and line dancing” at the Courthouse Center for the Arts. This local RI group has also been voted one of New England’s favorite line dancing bands, so you can bet that there will plenty of music and dancing to make this night an unforgettable experience. Kim Russo, otherwise known as “The Happy Medium,” has appeared on A&E’s Paranormal State, Psychic Kids, and has also appeared on the Biography Channel’s Celebrity Ghost Stories. at Roger Williams University

No, this is not about applying for a job at Roger Williams University. Rather, Working is a musical based on a book by Studs Terkel that contains interviews of American workers. The play takes audiences through the lives and jobs of workers that the world often takes for granted like schoolteachers, phone operators, waitresses, and even the lives of “housewives.” Nominated for six Tony awards, this is a play worth experiencing on RWU’s stage. Earth Day Cleanup 2016
In celebration of Earth Day in 2016, the East Bay Young Professionals are hosting an Earth Day Clean Up. Their morning begins at 9:00AM where participants will receive Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, baked goods, a special t-shirt, clean-up bags and assignments. After spending your day cleaning up the East Bay, there will be a “thank-you hot dog roast” at noon.
