Roz and the Rice Cakes, Downtown Boys and more play for New Urban Arts

Five awesome local bands play benefit show on Friday November 20

Posted

On Friday, November 20, New Urban Arts (NUA) will host a slew of local bands for its fall fundraiser. The community-based creative space serves as an alternative to the dwindling arts programs in area highs chools. NUA's programming is free and runs all through the year.

"I was a student there between '04 and '07 as a result of my high school having a poorly funded and virtually non-existent art program," says Roz and the Rice Cakes' Roz Raskin. "It was one of the best experiences of my life."

Since Roz's time there, NUA has expanded its offerings and seen the number of participating  students balloon to more than 100 each day.

The all-ages show starts at 6:30pm and will feature Roz and the Rice Cakes, Downtown Boys, Math the Band, Lovesick and Amanda Salemi.
