Dress Your Home in Artéé Fabrics

The Pawtucket store is a haven for design enthusiasts

I definitely caught the decorating bug when I visited Artéé Fabrics & Home in Pawtucket. The seemingly endless rows and rows of colorful, vibrant, intricate patterns gave me an itch for a house, or even just a room, to redecorate. The floor is fully packed with fabrics and rugs in lovely and rustic designs and colors that invite you to explore the wide space.

Artéé Fabrics & Home is the largest fabric store in the area and supplies home decorating fabrics and more to homeowners, decorators, designers and to the trade. “There is so much to find at Artéé, with literally hundreds of racks neatly arranged in rows you will find of fabrics in virtually every category: linens, cottons, blends, polyesters, silks, mohair, chenille’s, burlap, vinyl’s in a wide variety of uses, like upholstery, drapery and so much more,” explains owner Shekhar Mehta. “The fabrics are arranged by color so that clients can easily find fabrics that fit the color palette with which they are working. You have to stop to touch and feel and to experience what the store has to offer.” Not only can you browse great fabrics of all kinds, but you can also find other quality home decorations to match your new fabric find, like placemats, pillows, napkins and even scarves. Artéé also offers custom upholstery and reupholstery, window (curtains and panels) and bedding services with ready made furniture pieces that you can sample and perhaps be inspired by. Directly in the front window is an incredibly cozy looking bedroom set that is just begging you to come have a look inside.

“There is a large portion of the store that is dedicated to quality name brand remnants, overstocks that we sell at extreme discounts,” says Shekhar, “If you cannot find it at the store, then the people at the store can find and order that fabric for you.” Through direct sources and low operating costs, Artéé is able to bring in a wide variety of high quality products and materials at an affordable cost.

Artéé’s parent company, Artéé Collections, has been around the industry for a long time supplying to the trade. The store now has 12 locations, from Georgia to Vermont, including one nearby in St. Hudson, Massachusetts. The Pawtucket location recently suffered a rough patch because of a sprinkler leak last summer that destroyed a great deal of their inventory. But, the store is back and better than ever thanks to principal owner, Arti Mehta. Her personal commitment and contribution of stock drawn from her own large collection helped revitalize Pawtucket’s Artéé. The Pawtucket store is particularly special as it is located across from Slater Mills, the birthplace of modern fabrics in the US, so it is truly meaningful that its Rhody location was able to get back on its feet so quickly.

Online shopping is also available on their website. Be sure to check out the website or stop into one of their locations to see (and feel!) the extensive collections of fabrics for yourself.
