On September 15 from noon - 4:00 pm, Local Brew Events' 8th annual Fiddle n Folk Fest will take place in Haines Park, Barrington (near Cove Haven Marina). Featuring 8 bands (Old Dog Daddy and the Dagnabbits, Golden Bantams, Mini-Magnolia, Chris Capaldi, Sunday Night Jammers, Hollow Turtle, Trio of Gnomes, and Old Fiddlers Club of RI), storytelling by Len Cabral, food trucks, craft vendors, dancing, and kids activities, it's bound to be a rousing event. Join the all-levels fiddle jam with Michelle Kaminsky from 10:30- noon. Bring a chair and a blanket and enjoy the day overlooking Narragansett Bay.
This year, the Fest is part of Playing for Change Day- an international event where musicians and music lovers unite for a day of music around the world. The day's events are FREE, thanks to generous support from the Town of Barrington, RI State Council on the Arts, OceanPoint Insurance, Barrington Public Library, The Bay Team, Friends of the Bay Spring Community Center, New Harvest Coffee, The Black Pear, East Bay Oyster Bar, Grapes & Grains, RIDEM, and many generous individuals.
